Introducing Jacob's Armoury Small Sword No. 1
After months of interviews, searching web sites and looking at portfolios, Jacob's Armoury has awarded the commission of fabricating parts for the first Jacob's Armoury small sword to a foundry in the Scottish Highlands. We will be working closely with the foundry (who for the time being will remain nameless) to produce a faithful replica of this beautiful French small sword from our collection. We owe a debt of gratitude to Robert Hugh Wrightson who, during the International Small Sword Symposium of 2012, found a date of 1766 inscribed on the blade. The Jacob's Armoury Small Sword No. 1 will be available in both brass and bronze and will be fitted with a contemporary epee or double wide epee blade, though we are considering casting some aluminium blades from the original, for film use.
Jacob’s Armoury is now accepting orders for eight of the first 10 small swords. A down payment of £100 locks us into your premier price of £225.00 total. This will of course include a custom grip from Jacob’s Armoury After this initial run of 10 weapons the price of the Armoury Small Sword No. 1 will increase to upwards of 300 pounds. Those individuals ordering weapons in this first run will be invited to the foundry to witness early stages of the weapon’s production and to a black tie event in Edinburgh, to introduce the Armoury Small Sword No. 1 . At this event those first eight people will be presented with their first edition small swords. Incidentally we realise that "Armoury Small Sword No. 1” is not the most romantic name so we are herewith inviting people to submit possible names for the weapon... We could not be more excited...
